The Winnipeg Jets are signing forward Kyle Connor to an eight-year, $96 million contract extension, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger.
The deal will carry an average annual value of $12 million for Connor, who is entering the final season of a seven-year, $50 million contact that he signed in 2019.
The deal comes just ahead of Winnipeg’s season opener on Thursday against the Dallas Stars.

New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin, Montreal Canadiens winger Patrik Laine, Martin Necas of the Colorado Avalanche, Adrian Kempe of the Los Angeles Kings and Buffalo Sabres forward Alex Tuch are among the potential candidates to reach free agency next July.

The 28-year-old Connor appeared in all 82 regular-season games last year and posted 41 goals with 56 assists for a career-high 97 points.
The winger’s best goal tally came in 2021-22 when he found the net 47 times.
Connor has spent his entire 613-game NHL career as a member of the Jets. Since making his debut during the 2016-17 season, he has 284 goals and 298 assists across nine campaigns.
He has also played in 58 playoff games for Winnipeg and has 20 goals and 29 assists in the postseason.
The Michigan native was selected 17th overall in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Jets.
