Ozzy Osbourne was well-known Blues fan
SSt. Louis Blues

Blues to honor the late Ozzy Osbourne

  • October 8, 2025

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The St. Louis Blues are set to take the ice for the 2025-26 season Thursday night at Enterprise Center, and the team said fans will want to be in their seats early to be sure to see the latest pregame show.

The team said the third year of the team’s ‘Rhythm and Blues’ video series will bring the volume and hype to a new and higher level this coming season.

The pregame show’s feature song will be a cinematic remix of “War Pigs,” one of Black Sabbath’s biggest and most popular hits.

The team said the song choice not only fits the theme it was going for, but also serves as a tribute to the late lead singer of the band, Ozzy Osbourne.

Osbourne passed away this past summer on July 22 at the age of 76.

Osbourne had a unique role in the franchise’s lore. In 1984, he was photographed for a mugshot wearing a Blues shirt. He was arrested for public drunkenness in Shelby County, Tennessee, while in Memphis for a show.

The photo became an instant historical image for the hockey franchise. In 2019, after the Blues won their first-ever Stanley Cup, Osbourne donned the blue note once again to congratulate the team on their achievement.

“What started with Marquise Knox and Meet Me in St. Louis has now evolved into something bigger, louder, and grittier,” said Trevor Nickerson, Vice President and Executive Producer of Blue Note Productions. “We wanted to bring fans something that feels true to St. Louis — a story that hits you in the chest the moment it starts.”

The project has been brought to life with the help of multiple other organizations, including 2WEI, a German production team, Cincinnati-based 4th Floor Creative and local band Raised on Radio, made up of metro area high schoolers.

The team said the pregame show will have a montage of rock classics before the team takes the ice to Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart.”

It will be the team’s first rock-centric entrance in 15 years.

“It’s nostalgic, but it’s modern,” Nickerson said. “We’re leaning back into our roots — not because we have to, but because it’s part of who we are. It’s what this city grew up on.”
