COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On Tuesday night, Colorado College Tiger Hockey watched their former teammate Noah Laba’s debut with the New York Rangers. Laba has set a pathway for other Tigers to make it to the NHL
“We got together and watched it. It was really cool. I thought he played well too. He looks like he fits in out there,” Drew Montgomery said.
“What stood out to me in particular it’s not one of those end of the season, couple of games just to make sure you get signed type of thing as a recruiting chip. He made it out of camp and was their 3rd line center and played 13 minutes and won 71% of his face offs.,” said head coach Kris Mayotte.
“I think it gives guys confidence. Like at the end of the day, that’s all of our goals right. You look at him and he came here and played three years and proved he can play at that level,” said Montgomery.
“I guess it’s confirmation that the way we are coaching guys, the way we are developing guys is not only helping us build the program that we want to build but it’s also helping them build the careers that they came here to build,” Mayotte said.
