Jacob Kvasnicka recorded seven points in three games last weekend, helping the Vees start their first win streak as a WHL franchise
A Penticton Vees rookie forward has nabbed one of WHL’s top weekly honours following a seven-point outburst in three games last weekend.
Jacob Kvasnicka, who was drafted by the New York Islanders in the seventh round of the 2025 NHL draft, was named WHL Rookie of the Week on Oct. 6.
The 18-year-old product of Burnsville, Minn., scored three goals and added four assists from Oct. 3 to 5, as the Vees secured three straight wins, beating Portland, Seattle and Wenatchee in succession.
It was on Saturday, Oct. 4, when Kvasnicka’s star shone brightest as he tallied four points in the Vees’ 10-4 rout of Seattle at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC).
Kvasnicka has four goals and 10 points in seven games this season for Penticton (4-2-0-1).
The Vees are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11, as they host the Kelowna Rockets (2-1-0-0) at the SOEC.
It will mark the third meeting this season between the Okanagan rivals, with Kelowna taking the first two on Sept. 26 and 27.
