25-year-old Tyler Angle was acquired in an attempt to add versatile depth to their organizational roster prior to the 2025/26 campaign.

This forward will be arriving in Grand Rapids after spending his previous campaign overseas with Dusseldorfer EG in Germany’s DEL.

In 47 games for Düsseldorf, he accumulated seven goals and 20 assists, totaling 27 points, collected 14 penalty minutes, and carried a -32 plus/minus rating.

This Niagara Falls, Ontario, native was selected 212th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he went on to spend four pro years with the organization, primarily with their AHL affiliate team in Cleveland.

Within his 200 AHL appearances with the Cleveland Monsters, this forward accumulated 41 goals and 59 assists, totalling a whopping 100 points.

Additionally, during his most productive season in the American Hockey League, which was in the 2021/22 season, this forward logged 37 points within 71 games.

Angle’s talent ultimately earned him a role within the Blue Jackets, where he played just four career games from 2022 to 2024 and even scored a goal in his debut in April of 2023 against the Buffalo Sabres.

Now, Angle will get a second shot at proving his value within Detroit, and fans are hopeful this young forward will excel within a new organization, the Detroit Red Wings.
