That five plus month wait is officially over tonight, as the Devils start their 2025-26 regular season campaign in the same building where they were eliminated in double overtime of Game 5 this past April.

Devils vs. Hurricanes predictions, picks, odds

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Thursday, Oct. 9:

Hurricanes 3, Devils 2: The Devils will get a much needed scoring boost tonight as Jack Hughes returns to the lineup for the first time since he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in early March that caused him to miss the final two months of last season. It won’t be easy for the Devils, who face a Hurricanes team that was tied for the most home wins (31) in the NHL during the 2024-25 season. This will be a close, low-scoring game, but ultimately Carolina prevails and does just enough to beat the Devils in this must-see matchup of two of the odds-on-favorites to win the Eastern Conference and Stanley Cup this year.
