CHN Staff Report

The U.S. College Selects has begun to announce its roster for the Spengler Cup tournament that will happen over the holidays.

The team will be made up of current college players who are at least sophomores.

College hockey was invited by Spengler Cup organizers to bring a team this year, for the first time in decades. The team is led by Penn State’s Guy Gadowsky.

The plan is to roll out a roster announcement in pieces, beginning with the first five today.

So far, Penn State forward Aiden Fink, North Dakota defenseman Jake Livanavage, Minnesota State goalie Alex Tracy and Connecticut forward Joey Muldowney have been announced. And Penn State defenseman Mac Gadowsky was also added.

A few other top players will not be available because of their participation in the World Junior tournament, which happens at around the same time.
