Laval Rocket News & Notes:

The Laval Rocket kick off their first road trip with a doubleheader in Manitoba. Laval looks to build on a strong 2025 preseason showing, with a 5-2 win against the Belleville Senators and a 2-1 win against the Toronto Marlies. A good part of the Rockets’ roster participated in the 2025 NHL preseason. Laval posted a 3-1-0-0 record against the Moose last season and has only lost in regulation once against the Moose over the past five seasons.

Manitoba Moose News & Notes:

The Manitoba Moose welcome a Canadian opponent to Canada Life Centre as the Moose kick off a two-game home stand before heading on the road. The Moose played an intrasquad game in Steinbach and two preseason games against the University of Manitoba Bisons Men’s Hockey Team. No official scores were recorded, but the group appears strong and well-prepared ahead of the 2025-26 season. Several of the Jets’ top prospects will be making their leap to professional hockey after a training camp in Winnipeg.

Players To Watch:

Laval Rocket

Florian Xhekaj was a thorn in the side of the Moose the last time these two teams met, and he’ll look to continue that pace of play to propel a tightly-knit Rocket group to a season-opening win.

Jacob Fowler will be looking to post up in a big way as the Rocket netminder continues to have an edge for the Moose.

Manitoba Moose

Brayden Yager is coming off a strong NHL preseason, and if he wants to earn himself a look with the Jets early on in the season.

Elias Salomonsson is looking to take the reins as the Moose’s top defenseman this year. Still, he’ll have stiff competition with a returning Ville Heinola and newly signed Kale Clague on the team’s roster.
