The NHL was put on notice when the Vancouver Canucks traded JT Miller last season to the New York Rangers, the Canucks received Filip Chytil as part of that trade and he is already proving to his former team that they should have kept him.

“Heading into Thursday, Sportsnet Stats shared that Boeser was one goal away from breaking the Vancouver Canucks’ franchise record for most career goals in season openers, which he was tied with Markus Naslund for with eight tallies.”-Jaxon

Filip Chytil ready for a monster season and to prove his old team wrong.

“For the first time in more than six months, Filip Chytil played a regular-season NHL game in more on Thursday. He wasted no time making an impact. The 26-year-old Czech centre scored twice, helping his Vancouver Canucks open their season with a 5-1 thumping of the Calgary Flames.”-Karstens-Smith

Chytil has had a lot of issues with concussions so far in his career, but he is ready to leave that in the past and just focus on his game.

“«I just want to be the best version of myself, coming to the rink every day, work on the details on the ice and making myself a better player. So this was the first game, and there is still room to work on so many things, so I can be happy until midnight that we won, and tomorrow is another day where we have to work hard.»-Chytil

Chytil’s first goal was a rebound which he quickly pounced on and put into the back of the net early on in the third period.

Then only several minutes later, scored off the rush roofing it on Flames goalie Dustin Wolf.

“«In that moment, you just go, don’t overthink it. Just that was the chance. I saw that the shot landed on his tape. So I was in speed, so I keep skating and he found me. And yeah, it was a nice pass.»-Chytil

Chytil will have to do more than just score two goals to prove the Rangers wrong, but he is well on his way to a solid season, and becoming an established second line center.
