The Nashville Predators take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Oct. 14, looking to continue their three-game point streak to start the 2025-26 season.

The Predators beat the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Oct. 13, earning their second win of the season in their first road game. Nashville also beat the Columbus Blue Jackets and lost in overtime to the Utah Mammoth at home to start the year.

So far, Nashville’s best forward line is Jonathan Marchessault’s with Erik Haula and Michael Bunting. Those three have scored in every game so far, with Marchessault getting two goals in the win over Ottawa. Their combination of speed, skill and physicality has been tough for opponents to deal with in all three zones. Filip Forsberg and Ryan O’Reilly have also played well, combining for three goals so far.

But the biggest story for Nashville so far is the play of Juuse Saros. The Predators have played a heavy defensive game so far, allowing only five goals in three games, and Saros has been the catalyst. He has a .946 save percentage and a 1.66 goals allowed average, an impressive start following a down year for him in 2024-25.

Toronto (1-2-0, 2 points) opened the year with a 5-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens, but then suffered back-to-back losses to the Detroit Red Wings. Former Predators winger Calle Jarnkrok leads Toronto with three goals to start the season.

With it being the second half of a back-to-back, Justus Annunen should start in net for Nashville. Toronto should go with Joseph Woll, since Anthony Stolarz played against Detroit on Oct. 13.
