The Golden Knights picked up a point in disappointing fashion on Saturday night when the Seattle Kraken got the game-winning goal with 3.8 seconds left in overtime in a 2-1 loss. Pavel Dorofeyev remained red-hot, scoring Vegas’ only goal — his fifth in three games — on the power play to tie the game 4:11 into the third period. Jack Eichel leads the team with seven points on two goals and five assists. Defenseman Noah Hanifin didn’t play on Saturday with an undisclosed injury and is listed as day-to-day.
Matt Coronato’s two goals weren’t enough as Calgary lost its second in a row 4-2 to the St. Louis Blues in its home opener. Coronato’s first goal came on the power play at 14:49 of the first period to stake the Flames to a 1-0 lead before he tied the game at 2-2 with a tally at 14:57 of the second. Coronato leads the club with two goals and three points in the early going.
