There was a concerning moment during last night’s Penguins and Ducks game in which Penguins radio broadcaster Josh Getzoff fainted between periods.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are on a 3 game western road swing which began last night against the Anaheim Ducks, but there was a concerning moment between periods of the game.

Penguins radio broadcaster Josh Getzoff fainted while having a between periods conversation with another broadcaster, but was reportedly alert afterward according to bystanders.

He would be taken to a local hospital as a precaution, but all reports since then thankfully say that he’s doing alright.

Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Penguins were left scrambling as a result and had to improvise their coverage of the Penguins playing against the Ducks:

With Getzoff unable to call the third period of Tuesday’s game, the two broadcast crews had to scramble. Joe Brand hustled over from the radio broadcast to TV and called the rest of the game with Colby Armstrong. Meanwhile, Penguins director of team operations Jason Seidling joined the radio broadcast alongside Phil Bourque. – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Getzoff, who now works for SportsNet Pittsburgh, had previously worked 8 years for the Penguins radio network.

The Penguins Lose 4-3 to the Anaheim Ducks

The Penguins continued to be terrorized by former New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider, who is now with the Ducks following a summer trade.

Kreider scored twice against the Penguins, including the GWG with just under 2 minutes left in regulation, to help the Ducks win 4-3 in their home opener at Honda Center.
