Former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller was visibly frustrated when speaking with reporters on Tuesday after the New York Rangers broke an NHL record.”Their play, however, is very uninspiring. This looks like another JT Miller led team I remember.” @ChasinPucks said.
@lover_the312 added, “JT Miller you gone show up to work today or what?”
“Is JT Miller healthy? Because he looks awful.” @dantelives13 said.
“Is JT Miller even skating around with a stick? Shoot the puck.” @WhiteRabbit_Sea added.

On Tuesday night, the New York Rangers welcomed Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers to Madison Square Garden for their third home game of the 2025-26 season and the club was looking to break a goal scoring drought.
In their first two games at MSG, the Rangers were outscored 4-0 by the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals and last night, it was much of the same, as J.T. Miller’s group surpassed the 2001-02 Florida Panthers for the longest goalless drought on home ice to start a season.
“History at Madison Square Garden.
Rangers have surpassed the 2001-02 Panthers (155:17) for the longest season-opening streak without a goal on home ice among teams that still exist.
The now-defunct Pittsburgh Pirates are the only team with a longer streak (187:19 in 1928).” Peter Baugh of The Athletic said.
Edmonton went on to win the game by a score of 2-0 thanks to goals from Trent Frederic and Adam Henrique, as well as a 30-save shutout from Stuart Skinner and as a result, the New York Rangers became the first team in National Hockey League history to not score a goal at home in their first three home games of a new season.
“#NYR are first team in NHL history to be shut out in first 3 home games of a season.” Stephen Whyno of The Associated Press said.
Afterwards, J.T. Miller spoke with reporters and it was clear he was not happy with the situation, telling the media not to make it a bigger thing than it is, especially since it’s early, only five games into the season.
Miller added that there’s a lot to like about how the Rangers are playing early on, calling it a “unique situation” and doesn’t want anyone to blow it out of proportion.
“First of all, let’s not make this bigger than it is. It’s game five. A lot to like about our game. It’s a unique situation but let’s not blow this out of proportion here” Miller said.
Thankfully for the Rangers, six of their next eight games are away from Madison Square Garden, including a four-game road trip out west with a stop in Vancouver on Tuesday, October 28th which will mark J.T. Miller’s return to Rogers Arena.
