In an interview with La Poche Bleue, Patrice Bergeron surprised many fans by speaking at length about the team culture of the Montreal Canadiens.

Highlighting how impressed he is by the team’s mentality and the long-term vision of the group led by Martin St-Louis and Kent Hughes.

Even though he retired a few years ago, Patrice Bergeron continues to have a respected voice in the hockey world, especially in Montreal.

“If you want to keep your core together, everyone has to do their part. Seeing that in Montreal is special. It proves they’re united and that they want to build something strong together.”

I have to say I agree with Bergeron, but it’s clear that coming from a guy who won six Selke Trophies, that statement carries a lot of weight.

He noted that this kind of mentality isn’t always easy to establish in a young team, but that the work of Martin St-Louis and the team’s leaders is paying off.
