The Ottawa Senators return to home ice after an embarassing 8-4 loss last evening in Buffalo against the Sabres despite the return of Drake Batherson to the lineup. The Senators have seen horrible starts from their goaltending, and the heartbeat of the organization is seeking a second opinion in New York City for potential wrist surgery suffered against Nashville on Thanksgiving.
There is still 77 games remaining in the season for the Sens amidst the first back-to-back series of the campaign. The game last night was the must win game they so desperately needed. While they seek offenive solutions, Arthur Kayliev will make his season debut for Ottawa. Linus Ullmark is expected to start against a debuting Phillip Grubauer. Getting the points is becoming dire early for Ottawa while this start continues.Â
