An update was given this week on the status of Vancouver Canucks forward Teddy Blueger after he sustained an injury late in the team’s final game of the pre-season.The Vancouver Canucks got off to a great start on their five-game road trip last night in Dallas, defeating the Stars by a score of 5-3 thanks to multi-point efforts from Conor Garland, Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek, along with a 28-save performance from Thatcher Demko.
Vancouver Canucks give update on injured forward Teddy Blueger
According to Adam Kierszenblat of The Hockey News, in addition to activating Pierre-Olivier Joseph off injured reserve, the Vancouver Canucks have also added forward Teddy Blueger to their active roster.
“The Vancouver Canucks have made two roster moves ahead of their game against the Dallas Stars. Defenceman Pierre-Olivier Joseph has been activated from IR, while center Teddy Blueger is now on the active roster. Both players have missed the first three games of the season but practiced before the Canucks left for their current five-game road trip.” Kierszenblat said on Thursday.
Blueger, a native of Riga, Latvia sustained a knee injury during the team’s final pre-season game back on October 3rd against the Edmonton Oilers and just a few days ago, was wearing a non-contact sweater at practice, so something definitely changed in the last 48-72 hours in order for him to come back onto the roster, which is great news for Adam Foote.
“Blueger (undisclosed) was practicing in a non-contact sweater at Tuesday’s practice, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.” CBS Sports said earlier this week.
Vancouver will be back in action tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks and it’s unclear if Teddy Blueger will be back in the lineup and if he is, who will come out as a healthy scratch, with several members of the bottom-six having a strong game versus Dallas on Thursday.
The most likely scenario is that Max Sasson will shift to the wing tonight in Chicago, while one of Arshdeep Bains or Linus Karlsson draws out, but that’s only if the 31-year-old Latvian is good to go, which we should find out at the morning skate in a few hours.
