Chicago Blackhawks left wing Andre Burakovsky on Sept. 10 paid $4.25 million for a six-bedroom, 5,200-square-foot limestone house in Lincoln Park.
A Swedish native, Burakovsky, 30, was traded by the Seattle Kraken to the Blackhawks in June. He earns $5.5 million, and is under contract with the team through 2027
Built in 2021, Burakovsky’s new house has 5-1/2 bathrooms, radiant heated sidewalks and front steps, a private elevator, bespoke glass doors, a vintage Sputnik light fixture in the entryway, a formal dining room with gold leaf ceiling wallpaper, a Poliform butler’s pantry and a kitchen with Poliform cabinetry, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, a custom-built breakfast banquette and an oversized island.
Other features include a family room with an Artisan Kraft fireplace, a light-filled office on the top floor with custom millwork, an entertaining lounge on the top floor wrapped in Scalamandre wallpaper and a primary bedroom suite with Ralph Lauren double sconces, dual vanities in the bathroom, a dedicated makeup vanity and radiant heated marble floors. The lower level has a private guest suite, a media/art room, a playroom with a wet bar and radiant heated floors.
Outside on the property are a two-level outdoor terrace and a partial rooftop deck with cedar plank floors and a wood-burning fireplace.
The seller was developer Steven Ciaccio, who had built the home as his own personal residence.
Bobby Grilli of Jameson Sotheby’s represented Burakovsky. He declined to comment on the deal.
The house had a $64,594 property tax bill in the 2023 tax year.
