Another wave of trades is expected to go down in the NHL before the start of the season.

Heavy.com recently suggested a deal between the Detroit Red Wings and the Vancouver Canucks involving three players, including Tyler Myers, plus a draft pick.Detroit Red Wings acquire: Tyler Myers

Vancouver Canucks acquire: Justin Holl, Eemil Viro, and a conditional 2028 second-round pick that becomes a first-round pick if Detroit advances to the Eastern Conference Finals before the 2028 NHL Draft.

Trade Proposal Sends Tyler Myers To The Detroit Red Wings

At 6-foot-8, Myers would instantly make Detroit’s already physical blue line one of the toughest to face in the NHL.

He’s a proven veteran with 1,066 NHL games played with Buffalo, Winnipeg, and Vancouver, totaling 395 points.

For Detroit, moving a prospect and a pick might seem steep for a 35-year-old veteran. But parting ways with Holl and replacing him with Myers could be enticing for Steve Yzerman.

However, the team can rely on a lot of depth on the blue line. Shipping away a defenseman to address other lineup needs could be an interesting option for the Canucks and General Manager Patrik Allvin.

Myers has two seasons left on his $3M AAV contract, while Holl’s $3.4M AAV deal is set to expire at the end of next season.
