It took the Bruins’ seven games to have their first fight of the 2025-26 season.
But looking for a spark after three Boston straight losses, Mark Kastelic squared off with Liam O’Brien in Utah, 3 minutes, 18 seconds into the game.
The gloves and sticks exitted near the Boston blue light where the two hooked onto each other and spun for a few moments.
O’Brien landed an early right hand and nearly swung Kastelic down, but the Bruins forward stayed on his fight and landed several shots, including an uppercut and a couple of hooks, and finished the bout on top before the linesmen jumped in.
The two battled for over 30 seconds.
Kastelic fought for the first time after getting into 10 scraps a year ago.
That was O’Brien’s 39th career major penalty. He led the NHL with 153 penalty minutes in 2023-24.
