Vancouver Canucks Set New Franchise Record

The Vancouver Canucks have set a new franchise record following their shootout win on Friday night against Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.
It’s been a great road trip for the Vancouver Canucks thus far as they’ve won three consecutive games, knocking off the Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and on Sunday afternoon, the Washington Capitals.
Friday’s game against Chicago was a bit tricker than Adam Foote would have liked, with the Blackhawks taking the Canucks all the way to the shootout, where Brock Boeser scored the winner, putting his team back above .500.
Vancouver Canucks set new franchise record on Friday night vs Chicago Blackhawks
According to Adam Kierszenblat of The Hockey News, the Vancouver Canucks have now set a franchise record for most consecutive wins on the road against one team, with seven against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Vancouver’s previous record was six, two of those streaks came against the San Jose Sharks between November 2013 and March 2016, as well as January 2020 to November 2023, while one came against the aforementioned Chicago Blackhawks.
“The Vancouver Canucks recent dominance over the Chicago Blackhawks can now be considered historic. With the Canucks’ 3-2 shootout victory over the Blackhawks, Vancouver has now won 11 straight against Chicago, dating back to January 31, 2022. The Canucks have also set a new franchise record as their seven straight victories against the Blackhawks on the road surpassed he previous record.” Kierszenblat said.
Friday night’s win in Chicago also marked the second game with the “Abbotsford Line” in tact, which features a trio of 2025 Calder Cup champions – Arshdeep Bains, Max Sasson and Linus Karlsson.
All three have played very well together to say the least and yes, it’s early, but the Canucks might have found their new fourth line to roll with for the next little while, one that can also chip in offensively here and there.
“When you’re young like that, their whole line, the energy they bring, we can deal with some of the things that they have to learn on the fly. You have to play games to get some of those things and address. So, I really like their game. I like that line.” Adam Foote said.
He added, “With all the power plays, they probably didn’t play the minutes they deserved, but they’ll play some more minutes.”
The Vancouver Canucks will go for their fourth consecutive win on Tuesday night as their road trip continues with a stop in Pittsburgh against their former goaltender, Arturs Silovs, and the Penguins. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m. PT.
