The Edmonton Oilers made a surprising lineup move only moments before the game against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly before the game, the Oilers announced an official lineup change that surprised fans.

The Edmonton Oilers lost their last two straight games against the New Jersey Devils and the New York Islanders. The team will look to bounce back against the Red Wings, who have won their last four straight games.

Philp returned to the lineup for the first time since he scored his first NHL goal last week in a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

As for Howard, he’s making his first trip back to Detroit since winning the Hobey Baker Award with Michigan State in the NCAA. He sat out yesterday’s game against the New Jersey Devils.
