Vancouver Canucks winger Brock Boeser was a late scratch from the lineup Sunday morning on the road against the Washington Capitals.

The team announced on its social media channels that he was absent due to personal reasons. Jonathan Lekkerimäki took Boeser’s lineup spot against the Capitals and played the first period but did not return at the start of the second.

Filip Chytil also did not return for the second period, after he took late, blindside hit from Tom Wilson.

Boeser, 28, has three goals in five games with Vancouver. He had the shootout winner against Chicago earlier on this five-game trip. Boeser’s averaging 19 minutes, 37 seconds of ice time a game. He averaged 18:10 last year. He’s a 10-year veteran with the Vancouver.
