The Greeley Youth Hockey Association — also known as the Greeley Bears — again had plenty of success his past weekend, as its club season continued.
The 10U Greeley Blue Bears picked up an 8-3 win against NCYH Maroon to run its record to 5-0 on the season. Sutter Bennett, Kane Kovtynovich, Lin Chan, Ryker Deter and Jaxon Warner scored goals.
The 10U Gold team had a pair of games this past weekend with two close loses — 4-1 against NCYH 10 Gray and 6-5 against the Laramie 10U Black Outlaws. Despite the tough losses, Jackson Harding, Odin Salisbury, Kaleb Betz and Joel Byczkowski produced goals for Greeley.
The 12U Blue Bears secured a 3-1 victory Sunday against Arvada 12U Gold with goals netted by Logan Bashkov, Alexander Rohnke and Breslyn Larimer. The Blue Bears are undefeated at 5-0.
The 12U Gold Greeley Bears came up just shy of a win against the Cheyenne Capitals, falling 4-3. Aiden Mcfarland had a hat trick in the loss.
The 18U Greeley Bears took home an 8-3 victory against NCYH 18U Gray to extend its undefeated streak to 4-0-1 to start the season. Caden Barth, Matthew Chambers, Elijah Francone, Chris Hofstetter and Dylan Troudt scored for Greeley.
The Greeley Bears/GYHA is an affordable, nonprofit, recreational club for young athletes, 5 to 18 years old. It plays in the Colorado Recreational Hockey League and is an affiliate of the Colorado Amateur Hockey Association. It is also a member of USA Hockey.
