PIAA High School Football: Pennsbury, Abington Week 9 highlights
Luke Beighley rushed for 145 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Falcons to their first win of the season.

In their first home playoff game in four seasons, the Titans didn’t disappoint. Amy Hazell scored the lone goal of the game in the second quarter, capitalizing on a deflection from teammate Ella Marchesi. Nora McQueen made nine saves in goal, shutting out a challenging Downingtown East squad.Â
The Titans will face SOL Colonial rival No. 5 Souderton in Wednesday’s second-round matchup. Souderton won both regular season meetings (1-0, 4-2).
 No 14 Neshaminy 3, No. 19 Haverford 2
A huge game from a determined and tireless Mia Brooks gave Neshaminy an exhilarating double-overtime win at home. Brooks scored the first goal of the game in the first quarter, but Haverford tied it in the second. In the fourth quarter, it was Brooks again with the go-ahead goal, and again, Haverford quickly scored the equalizer.
With under three minutes remaining in the second overtime period, and a shootout looming, Brooks got the ball to Maci Fox in front of the net, and Fox delivered the game-winning goal.Â
Goalie Lexi Tarapchak had several game-saving saves in overtime, and collected 15 stops in the game.
Neshaminy will face No. 3 CB West in the second round on Wednesday. CB West defeated Neshaminy 7-0 in the regular season.Â
No. 13 North Penn 2, No. 20 CB East 1
Kylie Barwis gave the Knights a 1-0 lead on a penalty corner in the second quarter, and Paige Shearer added an insurance goal that turned out to be the game-winner after a late score by CB East. Brynn Williamson scored for the Patriots with under four minutes to go, but the Knights’ defense prevented any further damage.Â
The Knights’ standout goalie, Kylie Moister, had nine saves to secure the win. Patriots’ goalie Camryn Puhalla also had a strong game, turning away 12 shots.
North Penn will face No. 4 Methacton on Wednesday. CB East concluded the season with a 9-10 record.Â
No. 16 Ridley 3, No. 17 Pennsbury 1
Ryan Burdette scored on an assist from Regan Rodriguez, but the Falcons couldn’t overcome a 3-0 deficit, despite goalie Abby McCole shutting out Ridley in the second half.
The Falcon concluded a successful season with a 13-7 record.
