The Vancouver Canucks struggled mightily to start the NHL season, but they managed to turn it around on their most recent road trip, winning three in a row, capped off by a win against the Washington Capitals.

The good, the bad, and the ugly on the Vancouver Canucks most recent road trip.

Ben Kuzma of The Province wrote about the most recent road trip for the Vancouver Canucks, fans and the media were ready to hit the panic button when the season started. But with a three win streak it seems things have calmed down a bit, unfortunately it might only get worse with all the recent injuries.

“And when push came to shove in the matinee melee, Filip Chytil, Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Teddy Blueger sustained injuries and weren’t in the frantic finish as the Canucks hung on for a 4-3 victory.”-Kuzma

There was tons of pressure on the Canucks prior to the road trip, as the team came out to 1-0-2 start, and didn’t look to be a contender in the league at all. But they proved they’re better than what they have shown and goaltender Thatcher Demko said it was necessary.

“We had some pressure on us coming into this road trip, and I’m not going to pretend like it’s not there. The media was talking about it, the players were talking about it, and the coaching staff. We all knew the position we were in, and to come in and get the first three wins is huge.»-Demko

While they had a positive week of hockey, the panic has set back in due to all the injuries, the Canucks already struggle for depth, and it has gotten exponentially worse with Chytil their number two center out, with possibly is sixth concussion. The head office will have to get creative if they are to continue this streak.

Should the Vancouver Canucks have overspent this summer on a 2nd line center?
