SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Mammoth center Jack McBain left the ice early in the second period after taking an awkward fall following a hit into the boards.

The Mammoth is hosting the Colorado Avalanche at Delta Center on Tuesday, October 21, in a battle of the Rockies.

McBain just got crushed in the neutral zone and he’s taking his time to get up and make his way to the bench.

The fifth-year center played five minutes before leaving with the injury. The club announced after the period that McBain is questionable to return with an upper-body injury.

Utah gave up a Cale Makar goal early in the first period, but Karel Vejmelka has stood firm since, making several spectacular saves to keep his team within striking distance.

Nick Schmaltz evened the score 1-1 when he capitalized on a rebound off a Clayton Keller shot nine minutes into the period.

Minutes later, Lawson Crouse scored his first goal of the season on a top-shelf one-timer to give the Mammoth a 2-1 lead with more than seven minutes left in the period.
