ST. LOUIS — Adrian Kempe scored his first overtime goal of the season to give the Los Angeles Kings a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.

Kempe finished with a goal and an assist, marking his third straight road game with at least one goal and one assist — a feat not achieved by a Kings player since Derek Armstrong in 2006. The Swedish winger now has eight career overtime goals, tying teammate Drew Doughty for fourth-most in franchise history and matching six fellow Swedes for eighth-most in NHL history.

Alex Laferriere scored his first goal of the season in the second period to give Los Angeles the lead, before the Blues tied the game in the third to force overtime. On the winning play, Kempe converted a power play opportunity with assists from Kevin Fiala and Andrei Kuzmenko. It was Fiala’s seventh career overtime assist — and his first as a King — while Kuzmenko recorded his second career overtime helper and second straight game with a power play point.

Goaltender Darcy Kuemper earned his first win of the season with 17 saves, tying Bob Janecyk for 11th on the Kings’ all-time wins list with 42. The victory improved Los Angeles to 2-3-2, while St. Louis fell to 3-2-1.

Veteran Corey Perry made his debut with the Kings, appearing in his 1,393rd career regular-season game — the 46th most in NHL history.

Los Angeles continues its five-game road trip Thursday against the Dallas Stars.
