New York Islanders forward Pierre Engvall is expected to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing ankle surgery, general manager Mathieu Darche announced Wednesday.
Engvall had yet to play this season, having missed all of training camp after undergoing hip surgery during the summer.
Per Darche, Pierre Engvall had ankle surgery yesterday and is most likely out for the season.
Also, Alexander Romanov probably out at least the next two games.

Engvall had eight goals and 15 points in in 62 games with the Islanders last season and added one goal in six AHL games with the Bridgeport Islanders after going unclaimed on waivers early in the year.
The 29-year-old winger is signed through the 2029-30 season at a cap hit of $3 million on the seven-year, $21 million deal inked with New York in 2023.
The Ljungby, Sweden native has 65 goals and 135 points in 380 career games with the Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was selected by the Maple Leafs in the seventh round of the 2014 draft.
