Montreal Canadiens
Forward Patrik Laine will seek a second opinion about his lower-body injury, according to RDS reporter Patrick Friolet.
Laine, 27, missed the team’s last two games with the injury and is still considered to be day-to-day.
He last appeared during the Canadiens’ 3-2 overtime victory over the Nashville Predators where he had 12:10 of ice time and a minus-1 rating.
The 6-foot-4 winger has an assist in five games this season.
Jakub Dobes will be in net on Wednesday when the Canadiens take on the Calgary Flames.
Dobes has a 3-0-0 record this season with a 1.63 GAA and .939 save percentage.
Winnipeg Jets
Forward Morgan Barron was not on the ice for Jets’ practice on Wednesday and is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, according to team reporter Mitchell Clinton.

Barron, 26, had 11:46 of ice time during the Jets’ 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Monday.
The 6-foot-4 centre has three goals and five points in six games this season.
Team captain Adam Lowry was in a non-contact jersey and replaced Vladislav Namestnikov for some line rushes between Alex Iafallo and Adam Lambert. Lowry has yet to play this season as he continues to recover from off-season hip surgery.

Nashville Predators
The Nashville Predators have returned top prospect Brady Martin to the Ontario Hockey League’s Soo Greyhounds on Wednesday.
Martin, 18, was drafted fifth overall by the Predators in the 2025 draft and recorded an assist in three games with the club this season.
The 6-foot centre starred for the Greyhounds last season, recording 33 goals and 72 points in 57 games in his draft year. He added four points in five playoff games before his team was eliminated by the Windsor Spitfires in the first round.
Martin was part of the leadership team for Canada at the under-18 World Hockey Championship in 2025, recording three goals and 11 points in a gold-medal finish.
The Elora, Ont., native also represented Canada at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, recording four assists en route to gold.
Boston Bruins
The Bruins placed defenceman Jordan Harris on injured reserve on Wednesday and recalled defenceman Michael Callahan from the AHL’s Providence Bruins.
Harris, 25, joined the Bruins on a one-year deal in the off-season and was placed on the IR with an undisclosed injury.
The 6-foot left-shot defenceman has a goal and two points in five games this season. He recorded a goal and five points in 33 games last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Callahan, 26, appeared in four games in Providence this season without recording a point.
Buffalo Sabres
Goaltender Colten Ellis is expected to make his NHL debut in net on Wednesday when the Sabres take on the Detroit Red Wings.
Ellis, 25, was claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Blues prior to the start of the regular season and served as a backup to netminder Alex Lyon.
The 6-foot-1 netminder was drafted 93rd overall by the Blues in 2019 and went 22-14-2 with the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds last season with a .922 save percentae and 2.63 GAA.
The Sabres assigned forward Josh Dunne to the AHL’s Rochester Americans on Wednesday.
Dunne, 26, appeared in two games with Buffalo this season without recording a point.
The 6-foot-4 centre registered 10 goals and 29 points in 68 games last season with Rochester.
Chicago Blackhawks
Forward Jason Dickinson is not expected to be available when the Blackhawks take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, according to head coach Jeff Blashill.
Dickinson, 30, missed Sunday’s 2-1 overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks with an upper-body injury, but was a partial participant in Wednesday’s practice.
The 6-foot-2 centre has a goal and two points in five games this season.
Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets assigned defenceman Dysin Mayo to the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters on Wednesday.
Mayo, 29, joined the Blue Jackets organization in the off-season on a one-year deal.
The 6-foot right-shot defenceman appeared in four games with the Monsters this season, recording two assists.
Detroit Red Wings
John Gibson is expected to be in net when the Red Wings take on the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.

Gibson, 32, is in his first season with the Red Wings after being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks in the off-season and has a 2-1-0 record with a 2.99 GAA and .873 save percentage.
Los Angeles Kings
Captain Anze Kopitar participated in Kings practice on Wednesday in a full-contact sweater, according to team reporter Zach Dooley.

Kopitar, 38, sustained a foot injury last week and placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-3 is in the midst of his farewell season— his 20th of his career, and was originally given a week-to-week timeframe.
Kopitar has four assists in four games this season.
Goaltender Pheonix Copley was placed on waivers on Wednesday.
Copley, 33, is in his second stint with the Kings after he was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 15 for future considerations.
The 6-foot-4 netminder went 24-17-1 with the AHL’s Ontario Reign last season with a 2.49 GAA and .904 save percentage.
Minnesota Wild
Forward Marco Rossi is expected to play on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils, according to head coach John Hynes.
Rossi, 24, missed Monday’s 2-1 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers with an undisclosed injury.

Additionally, defenceman Zach Bogosian returned to Minnesota from the team’s road trip and had a procedure to deal with his lower-body injury.
Bogosian, 25, appeared in five games this season while averaging 13:53 of ice time.
Filip Gustavsson will be in net when the Wild take on the Devils.
Gustavsson, 27, has a 2-3-0 record this season with a 3.04 GAA and .899 save percentage.
New York Islanders
General manager Mathieu Darche announced on Wednesday that forward Pierre Engvall had surgery on his ankle and will likely miss the rest of the season.
Per Darche, Pierre Engvall had ankle surgery yesterday and is most likely out for the season.
Also, Alexander Romanov probably out at least the next two games.

Engvall, 29, missed the start of the 2025-26 campaign while recovering from hip surgery.
The 6-foot-6 winger recorded eight goals and 15 points in 62 games with the Islanders last season.
Additionally, Alexander Romanov is expected to miss the Islanders’ next two games while he deals with an upper-body injury.
The 6-foot-1 left-shot defenceman appeared in four games with the Islanders this year, averaging 18:12 of ice time.
The Islanders placed forward Marc Gatcomb on waivers Wednesday.
Gatcomb, 26, played one game with the Islanders this season, recording 8:33 of ice time during the team’s 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals on Oct. 11.
The 6-foot-2 centre appeared in 39 games with the Islanders last season, recording eight goals and nine points. He also had nine goals and 17 points in 35 games with AHL Bridgeport last season.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights recalled goaltender Carl Lindbom and defenceman Jacob Megna from the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights on Wednesday.
The move comes after goaltender Adin Hill left Monday’s 4-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes in the first period with an apparent leg injury.
Lindbom, 22, was drafted 222nd overall by the Golden Knights in 2021 and appeared in two games with the Silver Knights this season and has a 1-0-1 record.
He registered an 18-15-5 record last season in the AHL with a 2.65 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.
Megna, 32, joined the Golden Knights organization on a two-year deal in the off-season. The 6-foot-6 defenceman has an assist in four games in the AHL this season.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks assigned defenceman Luca Cagnoni to the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda on Wednesday.
Cagnoni, 20, was drafted 123rd overall by the Sharks in 2023 and recorded two assists and six games before being re-assigned.
The 5-foot-9 left-shot defenceman registered 16 goals and 52 pointsin 64 games in the AHL last season.
Utah Mammoth
The Mammoth placed forward Andrew Agozzino on waivers Wednesday with the intention to assign him to the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners, according to Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports.
