Already trailing 1-0, Vejmelka dropped to the ice and used his left leg to bat away consecutive shots from last season’s second-leading scorer from last season.

Vejmelka finished the period with 12 saves.

The Mammoth attempted ten shots and came up empty in the only PP in the first 20 minutes.
