‘It’s Something Completely New’: Kent Hughes Shares Honest Update on Patrik Laine’s Condition

Patrik Laine is once again worrying the Montreal Canadiens, and now Kent Hughes is trying to calm the storm.
The mystery surrounds Patrik Laine, who has been absent from the Montreal Canadiens’ Western Canada road trip so far.
During his press conference in Edmonton, Kent Hughes wanted to clarify the situation.
“Now, I have enough experience to avoid saying that everything is fine. In the past, so many things have happened” Hughes said
He clearly remembers many cases where seemingly minor injuries turned into something worse.
“At first, we thought it wasn’t anything serious. Then, all of a sudden, we found out that his ACL and MCL [anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament] had been affected.”
I like hearing that kind of honesty from the GM!
Kent Hughes confirms that Patrik Laine’s injury has nothing to do with last year’s
“It’s something completely new,” clarified the Canadiens GM
He also pointed out that the Finnish forward declined surgery last year in order to return to play more quickly.
For now, the Canadiens are awaiting the official medical report.
