Colorado Hockey Now

Wearing Quebec Nordiques and Hartford Whalers jerseys, the Avalanche and Hurricanes turned the clock back to some vintage 80s hockey. The offense was high-flying, the goals came in waves, and there were more shots than usual.

It was fun.

But unlike the 80s, games no longer end in a tie. Despite a perfect performance from goalie Trent Miner in relief, the Avalanche lost in the shootout to extend their season-opening undefeated streak to eight games.
