Center Nate Danielson should be in the Grand Rapids Griffins lineup when they play a home game against the Manitoba Moose.

The Detroit Red Wings activated Danielson from injured non-roster and assigned him to the Griffins.

Danielson, 21, had a strong Red Wings training camp and might have made the NHL roster had he not been injured four weeks ago. It seems likely that Danielson, a two-way center, will be brought up to the Red Wings at some point this season.

In Grand Rapids, Danielson joins other important prospects such as Carter Mazur, Amadeus Lombardi and William Wallinder who are considered candidates to earn a call-up this season. Danielson put up 12 goals and 39 points for Grand Rapids in his rookie season of 2024-25.

Another interesting player at Grand Rapids is forward Eduards Tralmaks who has three goals in the Griffins’ 4-0 start.

The Red Wings signed Tralmaks, 28, last summer after two productive seasons in Czechia’s top league. The Latvian forward, who played four seasons of college hockey at Maine, scored 44 goals over the two seasons.  He’s also 6-foot-4, 225 pounds.

If the Red Wings win tonight, they tie their team record for best start to a season (5-0). Mazur has been crucial to the team’s start with four goals and six points. Lombardi has four assists. Goalies Michal Postava and Sebastian Cossa are both 2-0, with Postava showing the better statistics.

The Griffins haven’t trailed yet this season. Their power play is scoring at 25% efficiency, and their penalty kill is at 91.7%. Grand Rapids is scoring four goals per game.
