Who Wants to Trade For Los Angeles Kings Adrian Kempe?
Don’t look now, but the most prominent UFA2B this summer is suddenly hot…and the Kings are getting MANY calls from teams trying to make a trade
Kempe scored 37 seconds into overtime in the Kings’ 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars, handing Dallas their fourth straight loss. That goal marked his second consecutive overtime game-winner (he scored one in a win vs the St. Louis Blues earlier this week).Going into last night he already had 4 goals, 11 points in 8 appearances, 27 shots, 23 hits, and a +5 rating. In the Stars game he also picked up an assist, five hits, two penalty minutes and was plus-2. He celebrated the OT winner against Dallas by flashing the “Horns Down” taunt at the crowd — showing some attitude for kid..

Kempe was a first-round pick in 2014 (29th overall). His expiring contract is a 4-year, US $22 million deal. All indications are he’s looking for a 3 to $4 million raise putting him somewhere in the 8 to 9 per year category. This summer his name came up a lot in the Connor McDavid trade speculation. There’s no question that the Edmonton Oilers would love to grab him, but I don’t see it happening unless it does have something to do with Connor down the line.
