Dallas Mavericks fans erupt with “Fire Nico!” chants after another home loss, frustration grows over Nico Harrison’s leadership.

The frustration inside the American Airlines Center hit a boiling point Friday night as the Dallas Mavericks fell 117-107 at home to the Washington Wizards. The loss, their second in a row, ignited another wave of fan outrage — and chants of “Fire Nico!” echoed throughout the arena.

The criticism continues to center on team president Nico Harrison, who remains under heavy pressure following last season’s shocking blockbuster deal that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a future first-round pick.

Although the trade added star power on paper, injuries and inconsistent performances derailed the Mavericks’ postseason hopes. Despite the offseason excitement surrounding top draft pick Cooper Flagg, early results suggest the rebuild is still in its rocky phase.

Per Tim MacMahon of ESPN, fans were heard chanting “Fire Nico!” as the Mavericks fell behind late in the fourth quarter, unable to rally against a struggling Wizards squad.

Now sitting winless to start the season, Dallas faces growing tension both on the court and in the front office. The Mavericks will try to regroup when they host the Toronto Raptors on October 26.

“Fire Nico!” chants are going strong with Mavs down double digits at home in the final minute against the Wizards.
