The Vancouver Canucks have received an unfortunate injury update on veteran defenseman Derek Forbort, who hasn’t suited up for the club in two weeks.
It’s been a rough start to the season for the Vancouver Canucks, not because of their on-ice play, but due to the amount of injuries the team has suffered in such a short period of time.
Forbort last appeared in a game for the Canucks back on October 11th, when they fell to the Edmonton Oilers by a score of 3 to 1 and a few days later, was placed on injured reserve.
“Forbort will be eligible to return 7 days after being put on IR, so he’s going to miss at least the first 3 games of this road trip.” Sat Shah said on X just before the team’s road trip began.

When meeting with reporters on Friday afternoon, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin gave injury updates on a handful of players on his roster, including Derek Forbort and it doesn’t look like fans will be seeing him back in the lineup anytime soon.
According to Patrik Allvin, Derek Forbort has suffered a setback in his recovery from his undisclosed injury and is set to be out week-to-week.
“Allvin suggests that Chytil has been making progress but still needs to go through the protocol and hasnt been cleared.

Forbert had a setback and is week to week.
Allvin says a lack of practice time also a challenge to get these guys back.” Farhan Lalji of TSN said on X.
Forbort, a native of Duluth, Minnesota, re-signed with the Canucks in early June, putting pen-to-paper on a one-year, $2 million deal just weeks before he was set to become an unrestricted free agent.
In 56 games as a Vancouver Canuck, dating back to the start of last season, the 33-year-old has 11 points (two goals, nine assists), 47 penalty minutes and is a minus-seven.
