Chicago Blackhawks Recap, News & Tidbits
Chicago Hockey Now: Don’t stop now, boys! The Blackhawks bested the Bolts on Thursday night to move to 4-0-1 over their last five contests. Ryan Donato, Frank Nazar, and Spencer Knight were the stars once again in a big 3-2 win down in Tampa.
Fourth Period: Yep, more Lukas Reichel trade rumors. David Pagnotta reported that the Blackhawks are still open to trading Reichel, with the Detroit Red Wings, Vancouver Canucks, and San Jose Sharks rumored to be interested in the former first-round pick. Reichel, who’s in the final year of his current contract with Chicago, isn’t opposed to a change of scenery, per Pagnotta.
More CHN: ICYMI, four Blackhawks’ prospects are currently thriving while playing professional hockey outside of the NHL. More help is on the way for Chicago in the next few years, which should get fans even more excited about the franchise’s future.
One of those prospects is 2023 second-round pick Roman Kantserov, who scored his KHL-leading 12th goal of the season and also added an assist on Thursday. Kantserov, still only 21 years old, has now tallied 20 points through 19 games.
You’ll never guess what Roman Kantserov just did…
Kantserov finds the back of the net AGAIN for his 12th goal of the season! Already just one goal shy of what he tallied in 47 games last year. SHEESH🔥#Blackhawkspic.twitter.com/TUYj2apZPT

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now
The Athletic: We’re not even through October, but there’s already been plenty of trade chatter around the NHL. Chris Johnston broke down ten potential early trade candidates ahead of the deadline.
TSN: Brendan Shanahan is back in the NHL, with Darren Dreger reporting that the Hockey Hall of Famer is joining the league’s Hockey Operations Department.
NHLMedia: The Carolina Hurricanes and Colorado Avalanche were rocking their retro Whalers & Nordiques sweaters on Monday, and they looked spectacular, in my opinion. Freddy Andersen stopped 44 shots to help the Canes win 5-4 in a shootout.
NHLdotcom: Logan Cooley tallied a natural hat trick early in the first period to guide the Utah Mammoth to a monster 7-4 win over the St. Louis Blues. Another tough showing for St. Louis in their home building.
San Jose Hockey Now: Macklin Celebrini recorded his second career hat trick, while Will Smith scored twice, including the OT winner, to lift the San Jose Sharks to their first win of the season.
Forever Blueshirts: On the flip side, the New York Rangers struggles at Madison Square Garden continue. Former Blackhawks forward Taylor Raddysh joined Celebrini in scoring a hat trick, but it wasn’t enough for the Rangers to defeat the Sharks. They remain winless on home ice in 2025-26.
Vegas Hockey Now: The injury bug never seems to leave the Vegas Golden Knights. The team announced on Thursday that captain Mark Stone has been placed on long-term injured reserve. Stone, who’s been constantly battling with injuries in the latter stages of his career, is now out until at least November 15th.
Detroit Hockey Now: The Detroit Red Wings‘ red-hot start is beginning to fade, as they were thumped 7-2 by the New York Islanders on Thursday. Detroit has now been outscored 11-4 over the past two games.
