Capitals forward Dylan Strome has gone down the tunnel toward the team locker room after a dangerous collision in tonight’s game against the Ottawa Senators.

The Washington Capitals have been getting some great production out of forward Dylan Strome this year, but there was a worrying scene on the ice tonight at Capital One Arena.

Strome has left the game in the 1st period against the Ottawa Senators after he fell awkwardly into the boards after he was tangled up with teammate Jakob Chychrun.

He appeared dazed and needed some help from his teammates and a member of the team training staff to make it down the bench and toward the team’s locker room for treatment.

So far this year for the Capitals, Strome has 10 points (2G, 8A) in 8 games and is on a 100 point scoring pace.

Strome is playing in his 2nd year with the Capitals

Strome was taken with the 3rd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes, who are now known as the Utah Mammoth.

But in 2018, he would be traded to the Chicago Blackhawks for Brendan Perlini and Nick Shmaltz, the latter of whom is still with the organization today.

He played with the Blackhawks until 2022 when they decided not to bring him back. He then made his way to his current team, the Washington Capitals.

It would be Strome who picked up an assist on the 895th career goal by teammate Alex Ovechkin to become the NHL’s best goal scorer in history.

In 526 career NHL games, Strome has 394 points (148G, 246A).
