A day after a 5-4 shootout win over the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 25, the Nashville Predators are back on the ice at Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators (4-3-2, 10 points) host the Dallas Stars (4-3-1, 9 points) on Oct. 26 (6 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network South).
Ozzy Wiesblatt scored the game winning shootout goal after nine rounds, the longest shootout for Nashville since 2010. Ryan O’Reilly led the Predators with two goals and one assist, adding a goal in the shootout.
Nashville has won two straight after losing four in a row. The bad news is captain Roman Josi is out week-to-week with an upper body injury and will likely head to injured reserve soon.
The Predators will rely on a remodeled defense against the Stars, which includes newcomer Nicolas Hague. He skated 21:11 minutes and recorded one assist in his debut against the Kings.
Injuries have plagued the Stars early this season. Jamie Benn, Matt Duchene, and Oskar Back have all missed time. Against the Hurricanes on Oct. 25, Roope Hintz left the game and did not return, so his status is unknown against Nashville. Mikko Rantanen leads Dallas with three goals, seven assists in eight games.
In goal, Nashville will go with backup Justus Annunen, making his second start of the season. Dallas will go with backup Casey DeSmith.
The Nashville Predators vs. Dallas Stars game will be televised by FanDuel Sports Network South with streaming available via FUBO and ESPN+ (outside of the Nashville TV market).
