The Chicago Blackhawks (4-3-2) look to get back on track when they square off with the Ottawa Senators (5-4-1) at the United Center on Tuesday night.
Last time out, the Blackhawks grabbed an early lead but fell flat in the final 40 minutes in a 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. That put an end to the Hawks’ five-game point streak and marked their first regulation loss in 15 days. Connor Bedard scored the lone goal of the game for Chicago.
The Senators come into Chicago riding a three-game winning streak, and they’ve put up seven goals on the board in back-to-back contests. Speaking of back-to-backs, the Blackhawks face another opponent on the back end of one, as the Senators defeated the Boston Bruins 7-2 at home on Monday. Drake Batherson and Jake Sanderson each tallied three points, while the team scored four times on the power play.
Here’s everything to note ahead of puck drop at 7:45 p.m. CT in Chicago.
Blackhawks Regular Season Notes (Last Five Games)
The Young & Fun Blackhawks have officially arrived. Connor Bedard & Lukas Reichel each tallied three points in a dominant 8-3 win over the St. Louis Blues. What a statement made on national television.
Tyler Bertuzzi’s late goal that was waived off for goaltender interference got all the attention, but the Blackhawks’ sloppy second period was what cost them in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Canucks.
Connor Bedard wouldn’t be denied in overtime, as he set up Ryan Donato for the game-winning goal to beat the Anaheim Ducks 2-1. Here are 10 takeaways from the Blackhawks’ third win in their last four games.
Another game, another game-winning goal for Ryan Donato. The Blackhawks scored with under a minute remaining in the third period against the Tampa Bay Lightning to earn their fourth win in the last five games.
The Blackhawks’ five-game point streak ended in a sleepy 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. Connor Bedard scored early to give Chicago the lead, but Los Angeles responded with three unanswered goals over the final two periods.

The Blackhawks held an optional morning skate on Tuesday, and Tyler Bertuzzi was on the ice after missing Sunday’s game against Los Angeles. Ilya Mikheyev, who exited that game early after crashing hard into the boards, was absent from the morning skate.
Head coach Jeff Blashill said that the lineup won’t be determined until later tonight, before the puck drops. Both Bertuzzi and Mikheyev are questionable.
Should either player return to the lineup, that would likely bump Sam Lafferty out. Lafferty has been a healthy scratch in each of the past six games and last played on Oct. 11 against the Montreal Canadiens.
The Blackhawks are expected to roll with 11 forwards and seven defensemen in the lineup for the seventh consecutive contest. The forward lines and defensive pairings listed above are from practice on Monday, where Bertuzzi and Mikheyev were both unavailable.
