A few years ago, many people were burying their heads in the sand and refusing to admit the obvious about the Montreal Canadiens.

In fact, even I had a really hard time believing the rumors that NHL players wanted absolutely nothing to do with playing in Montreal…

And now, that’s exactly what the well-known Pierre LeBrun (from TSN) has just confirmed.

Pierre LeBrun Confirms Sad Rumor Involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Trade Market

No one wanted to confirm it publicly back then, but today Pierre LeBrun just did – because it seems to be a thing of the past now… Wow!

Read the short report below all the way to the end – it also involves trade rumors connected to Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri:

“Pierre LeBrun: What’s changed for Montreal I’d say from years past is now they’ve become one the teams where a guy like Kadri, I think anyway…views them now in a different light; used to not be a team… where a lot of guys would waive to.”

It’s still sad to have this confirmation – that NHL players (in general) didn’t want to play or sign in Montreal – but the good news is that it seems to have completely changed with the arrival of Kent Hughes, Jeff Gorton, Martin St-Louis, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Lane Hutson, Ivan Demidov, and others! Now according to Pierre LeBrun, everything indicates that things have changed – and in particular, Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri would now be open to playing for the Montreal Canadiens and staying here!”The Canadiens, in my opinion, could be a team that would be interesting for Kadri.”

Not long ago, an analyst suggested a trade idea that could see Nazem Kadri land in Montreal as part of a four-piece deal.

Kadri’s situation will be one to watch closely as the future in Montreal is looking brighter than ever. Stay tuned for more details.
