The 2025 IIHF World Championship picked back up again on Monday as Switzerland handed Team USA its first loss of the tournament with a 3–0 shutout win. Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman J.J. Moser skated on Switzerland’s second defensive pairing.

USA was previously undefeated, so the win moves Switzerland to the top of Group B. The Swiss have seven points through three games, positioning them as early leaders at the tournament.

Moser has a notable history with Switzerland’s national team, representing in several international tournaments, including the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2019 and 2020, and the IIHF World Championships in 2019, 2021, and 2022. Switzerland has a two-day break  before playing Germany on Thursday.
