The Burton Lady Panther volleyball team announced the details for its area round match against Weimar.
Burton and Weimar will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Fayetteville in the second round of the Class 2A Division II playoffs.
Burton (37-9) earned its way to the area round on Thursday in a three-set sweep (25-10, 25-6, 25-9) over McDade. The Lady Panthers earned at least 12 kills and four aces in all three sets against the Bulldogs.
Weimar entered the Class 2A Division II playoffs as the second seed out of District 27-2A. The Ladycats defeated Pettus in three sets (25-14, 25-3, 25-8) in their bi-district match.
Burton and Weimar will meet in the area round of the volleyball playoffs for a fifth consecutive season. Weimar defeated Burton in the first three years of the streak, but Burton defeated the Ladycats in a three-set match last year en route to the regional final.
