Sydney Rafft scored what proved to be the winning goal off a pass from Sarah Franke in the 60th minute to push No. 2 Commack past No. 3 Ward Melville, 3-2, in the Suffolk Class AAA girls soccer semifinals on Friday. Carly Pulcini tallied a goal and an assist.

Commack (15-1-2) will next face No. 1 Northport in the final at 10 a.m. Tuesday at North Babylon. Jada Leonard scored both goals for Ward Melville (14-4).

Northport 3, North Babylon 2: Caitlin Cocks scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from Riley Cash with 10:42 remaining to lead No. 1 Northport over No. 4 North Babylon in the semifinals of the Suffolk Class AAA playoffs. Ava DeMarco added two goals, and KK Howard made 11 saves for Northport (16-0-2). North Babylon finished 11-6-1.

BOYS SOCCER

Northport 2, Smithtown East 1: Joey Smith scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from Thomas Fierro with one second before halftime in No. 1 Northport’s win over No. 4 Smithtown East in the semifinals of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Dylan Naughton made 10 saves.

According to coach Donald Strasser, it’s Northport’s first county final appearance since 1982. Northport (17-1) will face Deer Park at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Islip. Smithtown East finished 11-4-3.

Deer Park 2, Harborfields 1: Noah Romero had a goal and an assist for No. 2 Deer Park (12-2-4) in the semifinals of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Deniz Jusuf scored a goal. Pearse Boylan made seven saves. No. 3 Harborfields finished 13-5.

Commack 2, Sachem East 1: Sebas Troncoso and Ryan Schalk scored in No.2 Commack’s win over No.3 Sachem East in the semifinals of the Suffolk Class AAA playoffs. Brayden O’Boyle and Christian Lusardi both had an assist. Commack (16-1-1) will face No. 1 Brentwood at 7 p.m. Monday at Islip in the final. Sachem East finished 13-5.

FIELD HOCKEY

Ward Melville 2, Northport 1: Hadley Torre had a goal and an assist and Lily Tamburo added a goal to lead No. 2 Ward Melville over No. 3 Northport in the semifinals of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Alex Cotlet made eight saves. Ward Melville (16-1) will face No. 1 Sachem East at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rocky Point High School. Northport finished 12-5.
