The game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators is expected (as usual) to draw more than 21,000 fans to the Bell Centre.
But it might not be Cole Caufield‘s goals that make the most noise… it’s how fans are going to get home.
Chaos is expected to hit the streets of Montreal.
Due to the STM staff strike, there will be no metro or bus service available for the evening.
And that, just a few hours before a home game for the Habs, is no small matter.
The Bell Centre is known for its electric crowd – but also for its massive traffic jams after games. And without public transit, the situation could quickly turn into a nightmare.
The Montreal Canadiens Concerned About the Impact of the Strike on Access to the Bell Centre
According to a report from Noovo, nearly 60,000 sports fans are affected by the strike today, with four major events in the region: the Canadiens game, the university semifinal for the Carabins, the Laval Rocket matchup, and the Alouettes’ game at Molson Stadium.”Due to a strike by STM staff, there will be no metro and bus service today, so please plan your commute accordingly.”

In other words: leave early – very early.
Personally, I think this will be one of the most chaotic nights of the year around the Bell Centre.
And it’s not just a hockey issue – it’s a patience issue.
It’s even possible that the most loyal fans will take longer to get home than the length of the game itself.
