Ten days after Brady Martin was sent back to the OHL for the season, the Nashville Predators’ top 2025 draft pick is piling up points for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

He now has 10 points in four games, but none was as impressive as the goal he scored against the Oshawa Generals on Nov. 1.

With the Greyhounds up 3-0 in the third period, Martin skated with the puck into the Oshawa zone, breezed by the defense, and roofed a between-the-legs goal past goaltender Jaden Cholette.

This goal is a good example of Martin’s offensive skills. As the puck slowed beneath his feet and his shooting angle sharpened, he used his hands to tuck his stick between his legs and lift the puck over Cholette’s shoulder. All in one motion, he turned a difficult scoring chance into a goal.

The Greyhounds won 6-1 in Oshawa.

Though he started the season on a line with Filip Forsberg and Ryan O’Reilly, Martin’s rookie season ended after three games when the Predators sent him back to OHL on Oct. 22. He finished with one assist and three shots, skating 11:25 per night.

Fans looking to see Martin in Nashville again will have to wait at least one year. Because Martin is not yet 20 years old, he could not be sent to the American Hockey League, so he will stay in the OHL for the 2025-26 season.
