A former Vancouver Canucks forward will remain overseas in Europe for at least one more season after finding a new club for the 2025-26 campaign.

The 2025-26 season is almost two months old for some leagues overseas in Europe and so far, we’ve seen plenty of roster changes involving former members of the Vancouver Canucks organization.

This past week, former Vancouver Canucks forward Nic Petan had his contract mutually terminated by HC Ambri-Piotta in Switzerland’s National League, with a potential return to the KHL in the cards for the Delta, British Columbia native.”The Ambri-Piotta Hockey Club announces that Canadian forward Nicolas Petan has expressed his desire to terminate his contract for personal reasons, and the club has accepted his request.

The Leventina club thanks Nic for his commitment and professionalism and wishes him good luck for the future.” HC Ambri-Piotta said.

Speaking of the KHL, it looks like another former Vancouver Canucks forward will be remaining there for another season after putting pen-to-paper on a new deal just months after he became a free agent.

In a press release on the KHL’s website, it was revealed that former Vancouver Canucks forward Tyler Graovac has signed a one-year contract with HC Lada Togliatti and is set to be joined at the club by former NHLer Tomas Jurco.

Note: the following has been translated from Russian

“Lada signed forward Tyler Graovac to a contract until May 31, 2026. He played 67 games for Kunlun Red Star in the 2024/25 season, scoring 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists). In 217 games in the KHL, Graovac scored 45 goals and added 57 assists.” the KHL said.

Graovac, a native of Brampton, Ontario, spent parts of two season with the Vancouver Canucks in 2019-20 and 2020-21 after signing with the team as a free agent.

In addition to his time with the Vancouver Canucks, Graovac also suited up for the Minnesota Wild, who selected him in the seventh round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, as well as the Washington Capitals.

The 32-year-old centerman brings 84 games of NHL experience to HC Lada Togliatti and while it’s unclear when he’ll make his debut for the club, it could come as early as Thursday as they take on Maxime Comtois and Dynamo Moscow.
