The Chicago Blackhawks continue their six-game road trip with a west coast tilt against the Seattle Kraken.
In their third game of a six-game road trip, the Chicago Blackhawks are looking to find a victory as they venture to Seattle to take on the Kraken. After losses in Winnipeg and Edmonton, Seattle presents another tough challenge on the schedule.
Ahead of the contest, the Blackhawks shook up their roster. With forward Jason Dickinson hitting the IR, Oliver Moore was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs to take his place and is available on Monday night.
Chicago Blackhawks at Seattle Kraken Preview
After a pair of tough losses, the Blackhawks are 5-4-3 and sit just outside of the Western Conference Wild Card picture. On the flip side, the Seattle Kraken are 5-2-4 and currently occupying a playoff spot if the season were to end today. The Kraken are a team that has a lot of promising talent, but has yet to put it all together. Unlike the Vegas Golden Knights, another recent expansion team, the Kraken are searching for their first playoff appearance since 2022-23. Seattle is also coming off a pair of overtime losses.
Joey Daccord has been spectacular in net for Seattle, which is a big reason for their early-season success. Offensively, defenseman Brandon Mountour has been spectacular, and the rest of the team is providing balanced scoring up and down the lineup. Jaden Schwartz has paced the scoring early on.
As for Chicago, Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar lead the way, but strong starts from Teuvo Teravainen and Andre Burakovsky have the Blackhawks in a good position. Growing pains are expected, but the Blackhawks are progressing in a positive direction.
