Panthers’ Scoring Problem

The Panthers are heading to Anaheim after their win on Saturday versus the Stars with a final score of 4-3. This would end a four-game home stand for the Panthers, as they now head onto a four-game road trip. The Panthers have a record of 1-4-0 on the road this season.

Florida has struggled to generate goals this season as they sit second-to-last in the league in scoring. Their lack of scoring is due to their unreliability in their shots. Despite ranking 14th in shots, averaging 28.8 shots per game, the Panthers are third-to-last in shooting percentage at 8.7%. Florida has looked towards their power play to produce a good amount of the season’s goals, as the Panthers sit 15th in power play percentage at 20.0%. The Panthers’ defense has kept them close in games as they allow the eighth least amount of goals this season, but it has not been enough to counter the poor offensive output of their forecheck.

We are likely to see Sergei Bobrovsky get the start in net for the Panthers on Tuesday.

Sergei Bobrovsky:

is 6-3-0 in 9 games with a goals against average of 2.34 and a save percentage of .899 this season. is 11-6-1 in 18 games with a goals against average of 2.54 and a save percentage of .917 versus the Ducks in his career.

Terms & Conditions Ducks’ Young Core Showing Growth

Anaheim is coming off another win on Sunday versus the Devils with a final score of 4-1. This would be the third win in a row for the Ducks and their fifth win in their last six games. The Ducks are ending a three-game home stand on Tuesday against the Panthers before heading on the road for a two-game road trip on Thursday against the Stars.

We are seeing a far different team so far this season than we did last season in the Ducks, as they currently rank 13th in scoring and 11th in goals allowed. This has been especially shown in their recent games as the Ducks have averaged 4.33 goals per game and are allowing an average of 2.67 goals per game in their last six games. This efficiency on both offense and defense has allowed them to climb towards the top of their division, as they now sit only two spots away from the top of the Pacific. Left-winger Cutter Gauthier is leading the team in goals this season with seven scored across his eleven games played.

We should expect Lukas Dostal to get the nod in net for the Ducks on Tuesday.

Lukas Dostal:

is 5-3-1 in 9 games with a goals against average of 2.55 and a save percentage of .916 this season. has a record of 1-1-0 in 2 games with a goals against average of 3.38 and a save percentage of .887 versus the Panthers in his career.

The Panthers had a 5-9-1 record without Matthew Tkachuk on the road in 2024-25. The Ducks had a 9-5-1 record as underdogs against the Eastern Conference at home in 2024-25. The Panthers are relying too much on their defense to keep them alive in games this season. While Florida is without their star forward in Matthew Tkachuk, even with the addition of forward Brad Marchand, it has not been enough to help the offense generate the goals needed to win. On top of all this, the Panthers now have to head on the road and face a Ducks’ team that dominates on defense and in net. I have to side with the home underdog who has been dominating as of late to grab the win.

Over/Under Pick for Panthers vs Ducks Under 6.5 (-140) (4 units)

The Panthers have an over/under record of 3-6-1 in their last ten games against the Ducks. Anaheim had an over/under record of 2-8 at home last season in games that followed a win at home. Both teams have done a great job on defense this season, and because of this, I do not expect much scoring from either side. While the Ducks have looked great this season on offense, they should be suppressed going against Sergei Bobrovsky in net. The Ducks alone will not be able to take us over the total, and I suspect very little help from the Panthers as they continue to struggle in scoring goals this season.
