The Same Glaring Issues Are Following Rick Tocchet From the Vancouver Canucks to the Philadelphia Fl

The Vancouver Canucks over the past two seasons have been embarrassing on the offensive side of the game, and a big reason behind could be former head coach Rick Tocchet, who for the last 4 seasons has been at the bottom of the league in shots on goal.
“The last 17 months haven’t been what the Vancouver Canucks or their fan base was hoping for as the club has gone from Pacific Division champions missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs and so far this season, are just barely keeping their heads above water with a 6-7-0 record through 13 games.”-Jaxon
Rick Tocchet carries most of the blame for his teams’ offensive struggles.
Hockey Forever posted the alarming stat that has gone quite unnoticed in the NHL. It begs the question how Tocchet gets hired from teams at all. Before Tocchet the Canucks were a fun exciting team to watch, full of young energy and creativity. But since his tenure with the Canucks, their offence has come to a complete halt, most notably with Elias Pettersson. From Arizona to Vancouver to Philly – Rick Tocchet’s teams have consistently ranked near the bottom in shot generation. 😬

Now with the Philadelphia Flyers the same story is happening, with them only averaging 24 shots a game and sitting dead last in the Eastern Conference, with tons of young talent it makes no sense how they cannot produce more offence.
And we are seeing the same thing that happened to Petterson happen to Matvei Mitchkov, he has tallied only 1 goal and 5 assists in 12 games, playing minimal minutes when he should be the Flyers main offensive asset. Last season still under a defensive coach in John Tortorella he recorded 63 points in 80 games in his rookie season. He is on pace to record only 40 points this season, and Tocchet has to hold most of the blame for this. The Flyers need to seriously consider what kind of culture and lasting effect Tocchet is leaving on such a young core.
